IR-42 Instructions

Year - The year selected will represent the tax year being filed.

City – The city names and codes will be displayed on the left side of the tax form.

Estimated Total Taxable Income – The Estimated Total Taxable Income amount must be entered in dollar and cents including the decimal. If an amount is entered as 100 it will be converted to 100.00.

Tax Rate – The Tax Rates for each city will be displayed.

Estimated Tax Due – The Estimated Tax Due will be calculated by the system automatically. The Estimated Total Taxable Income will be multiplied by the Tax Rate and the results displayed.

Less Payment Amount on Current Estimate – The Less Payment Amount on Current Estimates amount must be entered in dollar and cents including the decimal.  If an amount is entered as 100 it will be converted to 100.00.

Net Tax Due Tentative Amount – The Total Net Tax Due Tentative amount will be calculated automatically by the system. It will sum the Estimated Tax Due minus the Less payment amount on current Estimate and display the results for each city.

Total – The Total of all Net Tax Due Tentative amounts will be added together and displayed as a grand total.

Back ButtonThe Back Button will take the user to the previous page (Main Menu)
Calculate Button     The Calculate Button will update the amounts entered and verify the business rules for the IR-42 form. The page will refresh and display the results.

The Continue Button will update the amounts entered, verify the business rules for the IR-42 form and continue to the IR-42 verification page.
